Paul is President of Lawyers in Local Government, the national representative body for c5,000 lawyers working in local authorities in England and Wales.
His ‘day job’ is Director, Legal and Assurance at Essex County Council, leading a team of around 220 people including legal, councillor support and assurance functions – things like internal audit, emergency planning and health and safety.
He studied law at the University of Leeds. Outside of work he can regularly be found swimming in the north sea and walking, though he wishes there were bigger hills in eastern England.
